If you are daydreaming about the great outdoors, you're not alone. We've got the perfect hike to dream about while waiting for warmer weather. Blue lakes in Colorado are an easy day-time hike that features some of the brightest blue waters you've ever seen.\nBlue Lakes Trail is located between Ridgway and Telluride. The winding hike leads you past dreamy fields of wildflowers before reaching the sparkling turquoise lakes the area is known for.\nThe hike to the lower lakes is just over three miles and is moderately challenging. There is no fee to enter the park and wander the gorgeous trails.\nYou can easily do the lower hike in a few hours. That's plenty of time to traverse the hillsides and hang out by the water.\nThough the park is open year-round, the best time to visit is from June to late October.\nIn the summer months, the blooming flowers create a breathtaking landscape, while in autumn, the fiery oranges and reds of the surrounding aspens will give you all the fall feels.\nIf you choose to stick to the lower lakes trail, you can stop and rest along the shore of the glacial waters for some epic photo ops.\nThe trail to the summit of Mt. Sneffels is a little over an 8-mile roundtrip hike, but the terrain does get more difficult the higher you go.
