The film this year will be "Best In Show," which stars Canadian icons Catherine O'Hara and Eugene Levy and, aptly enough, revolves around a dog show! The event has grown significantly since year one, Halle Pang, Manager at Global Pet Foods Hintonburg, tells Narcity. "The biggest change in the event over [the] years has been the scale. Our first year, we had under 50 attendees, but seven years later the park is packed full with dog lovers and their families." What makes this movie night even more special, explains Pang, is that on any other day of the year, Parkdale Park has a no-dogs policy. "The fact that the event is dog-friendly is important because the city of Ottawa only allows dogs in Parkdale Park for this one event," says Pang. Despite the volume of dogs, we have never had any issues regarding dog disagreements nor cleanup issues." There will be a number of dog-centric vendors on-site, talking about nutrition and selling dog treats, clothing, toys, and other accessories. Rocky Road Dog Rescue is among these vendors, and Pang says they will even have some fur babies who need to find their forever homes. "Rocky Road Dog Rescue will be on-site selling their merchandise. They will also have a bake sale and dog nail trimming, all as donations to help the dogs that they rescue," Pang says. "They will have adoptable dogs on site. Which dogs are still to be determined but we will announce on our Facebook page when we know." "The dog games on site are still in the works but will include events like "Best Trick" with treat bag prizes provided by United Raw," says Pang.
