Today, it was made official - Blue Jays outfielder Kevin Pillar has been traded to the San Francisco Giants for infielder Alen Hanson, pitchers Juan De Paula and Derek Law. This news comes to us as no surprise, considering the Blue Jays have been in talks with other teams over the past week, discussing possible trades for the Jays outfielder. Pillar was at the centre of controversy at one point in his Jays career. He was suspended by the Blue Jays in 2017 for using a homophobic slur when talking smack to Atlanta Braves pitcher, Jason Motte. Pillar apologized for his actions and clearly made his way back into the hearts of Jays fans because many seem shocked and a little upset that the star outfielder has been traded.
