Holiday shopping in the 6ix is going to look a lot different this year. \nThree popular Toronto malls — Yorkdale Mall, Square One Shopping Centre, and Scarborough Town Centre — are all making use of new features that will allow you shop for presents during the city's lockdown. \nSome of their new changes include colour-coded pick-up locations, online maps and text-lines for gift recommendations. \nEditor's Choice: Ford Says He 'Can't Get Angry' At Owner Who Opened His Toronto Restaurant To The Public\n\n\n \n \n \n \n \n Square One Centre\n \n \n \nEach mall's website now has a list of shops that are offering storefront or curbside pick-up and their hours of operation.\nNot every shop is on that list, but it is being updated as more and more shops add the option.\nWhen shoppers come to pick up their items, they will use the new colour-coded pick-up locations in the parking lots outside of their complexes.\nCustomers are still being asked to stay socially distanced and not loiter in the parking lots in case line-ups form. \nIn order to replace in-person browsing time, the malls will also be launching a text service for shoppers to get gift recommendations from a specific mall.\nThe new lockdown rules will be in place until at least December 21, which means that non-essential retailers will only be able to provide curbside pickup shopping until then.\nBut it seems as though more and more shops have already begun to adapt and shift to the new reality for retailers in Toronto.
