In fact, the rest of the world is in on it too, making the True North one of the most desirable places to live. \nNew data shows that the most popular country to move to in the world is none other than our home and native land. \nEditor's Choice: The CRA Says Up To 213,000 Canadians May Have To Pay Back Their CERB Payments\n\n \n \n \n \n \n Remitly\n \n \n \n\nThe topic of packing up and starting over has apparently become a trend in 2020 as more people have thought about doing so.\nThere has been a 29% spike in Google searches globally on how to move abroad from January to October of this year, according to Remitly.\nPer the report, Canada is the most popular destination for those hoping to start over overseas, with 29 countries having us on their wish list. \nIt also came in second as one of the most popular destinations for Europeans moving overseas, including those from France and Belgium. \nAdditionally, the True North was also a super popular choice for many Africans, with 14 countries including Ghana, Kenya and South Africa interested in relocating here.\nHowever, while the world dreamed of moving here, fellow Canucks had another country in mind to move to — Japan.\nThis is largely due to Japan having "stunning scenery, safety and [a] vast array of job opportunities."
