In the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic, Albertans are wondering where their premier, Jason Kenney has gone. It sounds like Albertans just aren't used to being ghosted. \nOn Monday, November 24 the hashtag #WhereIsKenney was trending in Canada, now, a day later, "Amber Alert" is trending and a facetious search for the 52-year-old politician is underway. Clearly, people just can't track the guy down. \nThe whole thing started from a satirical article by The Beaverton titled "Amber Alert Issued For 52-year-old Premier." The internet did what it does best and absolutely ran with it. \nEditor's Choice: A Man In BC Got Hit With $3k Of Fines For Having 9 People Over & Being 'Belligerent'\nAs a dutiful citizen, I always click on an Amber Alert, especially when it is trending. Little did I know, it is for our missing Premier, who has been unseen for 10 days while our numbers skyrocket.https://t.co/8Q4KVPhJvB— Cobra Chicken® 🇨🇦 (@FrankieSaysNews) November 24, 2020\n\n\nSome of the tweets hypothesize about where Kenney has been. You'll see some assuming he's contracted COVID-19 while others say he's gone south for the winter. One even says "he should have left a note." \nPssst! re "Amber Alert" for the missing @jkenney Kind of obvious at this point, he's tested pos and now he's hiding out until the symptoms are gone then he'll make a great announcement about jobs, a pipeline and how the socialists (Notley and Trudeau) hate Alberta.— Allan Westview 🎶Ding-Dong 🎶 UBI Now! (@Westview_Al) November 24, 2020\n\nNaturally, there are some people wondering if this is a legitimate amber alert and we're here to tell you that no, it is not in fact real. \nApparently an amber alert has been issued for Jason Kenney. If he's gone south for the winter, he should have left a note. #Alberta #abpoli @Albertadoctors— Laurie Adkin (@LaurieAdkin) November 24, 2020\n\nThough, as COVID-19 cases climb in the province, reporting more daily cases than the rest of Canada, the premier has not addressed the public in 10 days. \nDr. Deena Hinshaw said in a news conference that the province will be making an announcement on Tuesday.\nShe indicated that new restrictions may be on the way.
