Police in Dawson Creek rushed to help a B.C. Walmart employee who was being assaulted by an angry customer on Wednesday, November 25.\nAccording to a police release, the customer attacked the employee after being asked to wear a face mask, as required by provincial law. \nA video of the violent interaction has been circulating and was shared by CBC News. \nEditor's Choice: An NHLer Accidentally Kicked His New Bride In The Face & The Video Is Going Viral (VIDEO)\n\n\n“\n\n\nThe male suspect (30yrs old) was arrested for assault and mischief and released to attend court at a later date.\n\n\nDawson Creek RCMP\n\n\n\nIn the footage you can see the man in question sitting on top of the employee, hitting them in the face multiple times. A few bystanders shout at him to stop and to get off. \nThe man yells profanities repeatedly and even stands up to kick the employee at one point. Eventually, he gets off the staff member who starts to crawl away.\nPolice say the victim's injuries were minor and didn't require immediate medical attention.\nThe police release concluded by reminding British Columbians that masks are mandatory in all public indoor spaces. \nWhile it's an individual's choice not to wear a mask, they are choosing not to attend indoor public spaces as well. \nThis article's cover photo is for illustrative purposes only.
