New year, new you. And what better way to start off a new year than with a new job? If you're looking for a little change then you're in luck, because Mastercard is hiring in Vancouver. The corporation just opened a massive new location in the city and if you're looking for a job with the financial services giant, Vancouver is the place to be. Here’s what we know so far.\nAccording to Mastercard, it has officially opened up a new intelligence and cyber centre.\nThe news release explains that this opening will increase its Canadian presence by creating 380 new jobs.\nMastercard says that this new Vancouver space will be one of six global technology centres for the corporation and will “develop cyber solutions for the payments ecosystem globally.”\nIn order to get this Vancouver location off the ground and running, the centre launched in partnership with the Government of Canada through its $49 million Strategic Innovation Fund, explains Betakit.\nThere will also be an additional $510 million investment made by the financial services corporation.\nThis means that altogether, the project cost $559 million.\nThe Minister of Innovation, Science and Industry stated in a press release posted by Mastercard that the government is investing in a new cybersecurity centre in Vancouver in order to "develop the technology solutions Canadians and people all over the world need to protect their personal and financial information when they use their devices."\nThey also explained that this investment will help our nation become "a world leader in cybersecurity and help us tackle the cost of cybercrime in Canada—an estimated $3 billion a year.”\nThe new headquarters is located in The Exchange office tower in the Old Stock Exchange building, which was renovated a couple of years ago.\nSee how our workplace culture brings everyone together, and continues to put us on @GPTW_Canada's list for Best Workplaces for Inclusion. #StartSomethingPriceless #BestWorkplaces pic.twitter.com/PWlP46jRhG— Mastercard Canada (@MastercardCA) January 21, 2020\nThe massive corporation will be looking to fill numerous roles that include software engineers, data scientists, project managers, analysts, project designers, and information security experts.\nAccording to the Mastercard website, there are currently 24 positions needing to be filled in Vancouver right now and you can expect more to emerge.\nThese positions range in experience level and can be anything from a summer intern to an engineer or project manager.\nYou can apply directly for a position here.\nVancouver is swiftly becoming the home to many popular companies.
