It became the first major attraction at Marineland, a small aquatic park above Niagara Falls (I did visit Niagara last August, but I did not go here because it costs way too much for what it is). Marineland is a giant and empty park that features scattered exhibits, a massive drop tower visible above the falls, and this Arrow looping coaster at the very back (which is probably the only reason this park is open/worth visiting). Dragon Mountain opened in 1983 as the supposed tallest coaster in the world. It is elevated 186 ft. above the ground, but there is no height measurement available since this ride is so close to the terrain. This made it the tallest coaster in the world until Magnum XL-200 opened. Dragon Mountain does hold the record for most land taken up by a roller coaster: 35 acres of land. Most of this features meandering track going through the hillside. However, there are 4 inversions, including the only bowtie, an element similar to the batwing. This is also the only visible part of the ride from the main path. After hiking to the back, there is a massive cave that looks like a dragon to enter this ride’s queue. The queue is very dimly lit as is the station. In the middle of the ride, there was proposed to be a giant volcano around the helix. Only the framing was completed until 2006, where some detail was added but barely any.
