Applications are open, folks! Ryan Reynolds is hiring BIPOC for his next movie as part of his Group Effort Initiative and you can apply for the job now. Plus, it's going to be filmed right here in Canada. If you've been patiently waiting to apply for your chance to work on Reynolds' movie, the time is now. The Group Effort Initiative is looking for between 10 and 20 people who are BIPOC or from a marginalized or excluded community to be trainees on the project's production team. This is meant to give people an opportunity to get real experience working in the entertainment industry that will then open doors for future jobs. Every single one of the trainees will be paid, housed and have travel paid for out of the Canadian star's salary. Specific roles haven't been figured out yet but you would be placed in a job that's best for your growth. You'll spend your time on set learning from industry professionals no matter what. If you want to, you can apply until October 2 at 12:00 a.m. ET. The site actually crashed when applications opened on September 24 because so many people were on it! These positions have an on-demand interview which means you get to record yourself answering the interview questions whenever is convenient for you as long as you do it before the deadline. You have to be legally able to work in Canada. That means you have to, for example, be a Canadian citizen or have the appropriate work visa. However, there will be positions available for different locations at a later date. You have to be able to work full-time from November 2020 to March 2021 because that’s when filming will happen, COVID-19 willing. Also, you have to be 18 or older. The doctor places the swab up your nose, just deep enough to tickle your childhood memories and then it’s over. What the movie is about hasn't been revealed but it's a Netflix film being made with Skydance, a California-based production company, and it's being called the Untitled Netflix/Time Travel Project. Reynolds has shown lots of love to Canada especially throughout the COVID-19 pandemic. He's donated money to food banks and crisis centres, given a shout-out to healthcare workers and helped with the fight to get PPE.
